I'm pretty happy with how this thing runs! I've got less than 100rds through it in this configuration. I think with a little practice, I can take those splits down from .14 average to .12 fairly easily. The Geissele SD3G is a bada** trigger.

A Geissele is on my do-want list.

What exactly do you like about the trigger? Smooth? Light? Take up? Creep? Reset?

Have you ever tried a thumb-over-bore support-hand grip? It may be difficult with the MOE+AFG combo, but you could take off the AFG and try it. That, combined with a more solid stock-/cheek-weld, and I bet you could run it super fast and flat. :yesway:

    all of the above!

The graph really says it all. Ball bearing smooth, 3lbs, short takeup and even shorter reset. The weight is no BS # too. I've measured it with my own gauge. HUGE improvement over the 8.5lb long, gritty stocker.

I've been meaning to play with the thumb over grip. The last time I shot rifle with any seriousness was a really freakin long time ago. Uncle Sam was paying the ammo bill and the rifle had a happy switch. And I was in shape! those were the days......

If I understand your video "test" correctly, you put 10 rounds into the berm as fast as you could manage the trigger, right? And the time between shots was .14 seconds? And you want to bring that down to .12?

Makes me wonder how other triggers would compare. . . . Might have to remember that next time I'm on the range.

Have you seen these videos of Steve MI playing with one?

Try it. I think someone like yourself would take to it quickly and easily.

Do you plan on using this rifle for 3-gun?

Sort of. Wasn't much of a test, just me being a big geek and goofing off with a new toy. They were aimed at a piece of clay pigeon in the berm. Aside from the 2nd to last shot, most were fairly close. That one was yanking the crap out of trigger. :n00b:

It'll take some getting used to. My trigger finger is used to a longish DA/SA pistol, so the extra 2 hundredths or so should come pretty easily, once I train my finger not to come out so far. (which will also help my pistol shooting, since the excess movement slows me done some there, as well, as seen below)

Next time I'll remember my darn staple gun for a proper paper "test."

The idea for the rifle was 3-gun. Eventually, if I get bored with USPSA, I'll finally get around to it.

For a test of pure trigger speed I think having a POA, even as simple as a clay pigeon on a berm, is adequate. Its not like you were going for groups. You'd just want to make sure you weren't going wild with it. A small steel would work well.
