I have always used Jetbeams. I use the RRT models as I can dial up or down using a rotating ring on the body v.s. trying to select thru a bunch of setting to get my desired output. They have several models to choose from and even offer some with mini-USB on-board charging w/o having to remove the battery to put it in an 18650 charger. I bought mine from Andrew and Amanda on-line as they always seem to running specials on everything bright and light...

I like my Streamlight HL-X. 1000 lumens at full brightness, 3 brightness settings w/ strobe. Takes an 18650 or 2 CR123

Have used a Fenix HP25R headlamp for work the last couple months (underground limestone mine). It is an absolute beast and comes with many functions. I know its not a handheld flashlight, but I would send a vote for Fenix. The PD35 Tac listed above looks like a great deal.

That's my current EDC light, glad to learned it's Rhino approved. :yesway:
Two buttons on the back with quick access to two modes with momentary on switch.
    1600 or 10 lumens.
That's very handy to use without having to a bunch of sub mods that are hard to find and that you never used anyway (strobe, SOS and such).

You also have a 100, and 400 mode if you press the switch again.

Still small enough to carry in your pocket.

The only downside to me is the battery indicator thingy.
I can't tell if it's green or orange, and can hardly tell if it's green or red.
I can just easily tell if it's flashing or not.

as much as I like to give rhino a hard time, he has owned like 50000000 flashlights and carries like ten at any given time. So, I'd at least check out his suggestions

    10 flashlights? :faint:
Half of them probably double as knives as well in order to save weight.

The most flashlights I have on me is probably 5 at the most.

Klarus xt2c. Imho about as good as it gets for a do it all light. My wife just got the 1100 lumen model in the mail today and it came wirh an 18650 battery for around $56. We have the 470 lumen model which is still really bright and the xt11 and xt1a. I love the button setup on these lights..

I’ve had mine for two years as my EDC now and it’s worked great.

I also carry the same. Got a bundle with two batteries and a charger for like 90$. been running a little over a year now, it's awesome and oftentimes way too bright for everyday use. But really wide area, and excellent throw. I recall being down at the Bedford range and illuminating targets 100 yards downrange at night.

For a standard EDC, Zebralight. /thread. Fenix, klarus, or Olight would be my second choices.

If you need something .mil type robust, Elzetta is the way to go.

I need something to find coyotes in the field. The other night, we had a hard time finding one with the dim flashlight that I had.

I've been looking at the Emisar D4. Depending on which LED option you choose, you can get up to 3900 lumens off of a single 18650! And it is only $40. That said, my favorite light before I lost it was a Zebra SC52 (I think that was the model). AA power so it just got lost in my pocket.
