Help with ring height for new scope

Okay so I bought a Ruger Precision rimfire and Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 4-12x40. Can anyone tell me what height to clear the bolt?

Clearing the bolt should not be your problem. Clearing the hand guard with the objective bell may be. Burris signature Z rings in med height did not clear a 1" leupold with a 40mm bell on mine. I'd start with high rings if your bell is 40-44mm.
