As the title says. I want to camo a black shotgun. What’s the “best kit” out there?

Is “does not leave sticky residue” synonymous with “peels off if you just think about duck hunting”?

Not sure what to get. Or just say screw it and hunt with a black stick?

Tape and socks work, and suck.
Flat black while boring, does not annoy.
Never got into camo guns, and have grown to dislike the camo stock set on my 1100 SP.
But it had swivel stud, got on sale.
Will switch to black whenever I find another set.

If your rig is black...........I'd just run it.
My 870 supermag is black..............works fine.

    Degrease and spray paint.
My pref if having to camo.

Was gonna strip off my tiger stripe paint job on the 700 this weekend.
Seemed like work, popped a beer and left it alone.

Use some JB Weld (the putty) and fashion some fake branches to stick to the sides of the barrel on your shotgun. To make it even more inconspicuous, you can mount a fake Cardinal to one of the "branches".

Or just leave it black. The animals don't care what color it is.

I've heard that once you go black........

I have spent countless hours meticulously cleaning off unwanted rattle can camo jobs from guns, optics and accessories. All bought at a discount because the owners didn't want to bother with stripping them. Just be sure that if you change your mind you won't discard them the misfit toys.

    Guns are people too..... :(

I used some stuff made by (IIRC) McNett. Basically its a type of self clinging elastic bandage material in different colors and patterns. Worked good on my coyote gun. Now I just use vet wrap I get at the local seed and feed store and use markers to give a little pattern to it. Much cheaper.
