Looking to get into long range shooting and need a bipod. Chassis has M-LOK forend so also need to get a bipod mount. I'm curious what others have and/or would do differently.

I have a Caldwell on a 22 that is ok. That being said for a center fire it would be junk. The absolute cheapest I would conceder would be the Harris line. The amount of recoil and the ranges you are shooting will determine the cost. If you cheep out you won't be happy it is cheaper to wait and buy good than get cheep and replace with good.

I have an Atlas PSR and really like it. Plan on being one of the new CAL models since I won't need traversing really when I get the chance to shoot one rifle, plus I like the looks

Value though at the moment probably Magpul, plus you can get a direct fit MLOK model for it, no additional mount needed

Longest range i can shoot at by me is 200 yards. I have a Harris on my ar10 and use utg bipods on everything else. Either works just fine for me. Really see no difference is stability between the $100 Harris and the $20-30 Utgs.

Been running Harris since the 70's.
    Newer leg notch non swivel.

Currently bolted to 700 in .243 win.
Any yotes inside 400 are toast.

Last one I got was LNIB......cost me $35

Are you looking to compete in f-class?

    Best affordable bipod : Harris

OP: Talk to this guy. He's not full of sh#&.

I'm nit saying anybody else IS, either. I just know for sure and for certain that Mssr. ****4brainz is doing what he's talking about.

I need to get a couple for my 22s so I can keep the other bipods on my centerfire rifles where they belong.

I cant see spending $100 a pop on a bipod for a 22. I use utg on my 10/22s. Tactical op-1s to be specific. Great for that purpose.

I DO, however, recommend that ya'll don't forget to know how to shoot WITHOUT a bipod (other than your own two feet).

An example: I don't own one, and it does not cripple me.

    Sorry "Mike", couldn't resist. :):

I use an Atlas bipod and a simple rear bag. I take a more practical path in justifying my purchases. I prefer to be able to use my gear for more than one aspect/discipline/rifle. I don't believe my setup is the most accurate by any measure, you will also not find many others using what i use.
The following are more common examples of f-class rifle gear:
Bipod would be something like this or better

Rear bag or similar with ears and heavy, 15lbs or better.

Reading the wind is my nemesis. The only way i see mitigating this is to put as many rounds down range as possible. So that's where i funnel the money towards.
