Looking for a budget friendly pistol brace.... I have only used the shockwaves both 1.0 & 2.0... they are affordable and I don’t mind them.. with all the offerings there are I am just wondering if I am missing out on something? This will be going onto a Ruger Charger if that matters.

I have been very impressed by the SBA3. PSA regularly has deals on them but the cost will be more than a Shockwave.

I have been using the KAK Shockwaves on my T/C Contenders and Encores. I like inexpensive and functional things. I bought my last three for $18 dollars each direct from KAK and found a company clearing out the tubes for $12 when the 2.0 hit the streets. I have used them on everything up to 375JDJ and have no complaints with them.

I want the best bang for my buck... if I have to spend a little more that’s fine but I want the expense to be worth it not just a name, look , or color. I want better function if I pay more

If you haven't already assembled a lower I would suggest getting an SBA3 build kit from PSA. Very hard to beat the price and getting quite a bit in return.

Sba3 is vastly superior to all other braces, and IMO even better than the tailhook Mod2, which is much more expensive. It’s worth the extra $.

the one caveat may be the sba4, although I haven’t heard what those will sell for.

I have an sba3 and tailhook mod2 both are great. Mod2 has no strap and no rubber to flex but uses a proprietary buffer tube. Sba3 is easier to adjust, uses a standard buffer tube and you can actually prop the gun up due to the rubber.

I bought a 9 mm AR pistol that came with the Shockwave brace. I subsequently upgraded to the SBa3. I then bought a 5.56 AR pistol and promptly purchased another SBa3. The SBa3's adjustability and comfort make it far superior IMO and well worth the extra expense.

Of all the things I’d love to put a stamp on I won’t be applying for one for my Ruger Charger

    Haha. Fair enough.
Personally I think the "Pistol Brace" is a fine line. You never know when some judge is going to change his mind about those things and charge you with a felnoy. If i was going to do an SBR I'd just do it right.

i do agree with you but I think firearms in general are a fine line at the moment with the way they are coming after gun ownership right now.
