Should I peel this off?

I picked these up used a while back, someone had put what appears to be some cloth type tape on the inside.

They are Warne qd rings.


Good?
Bad?

I would assume the previous owner did that to shim the scope. Old school way of getting a tighter fit. Google scope ring shim tape.

Some scope rings come that way from the manufacturer, I have several that are lined like that. If it looks clean like a factory install I would not remove it.
