Another thread hashed out on the internet. But hey we are gun guys and as such we discuss.

I switched a carbine to fixed iron sights, because ‘Mercia. The DD1.5 rear had the 0-2 aperture sight. It’s fine, I am going to play with it a bit. I figure if I zero the small aperture at 50 yards then the POI will be lower and should be close to a 100 yard zero with large 0-2. However I am always interested in gun gear.

Has anyone tried the CSAT aperture? It has a notch with aperture below it. The idea is to zero at 100 yards and then use the notch like pistol sights up close to account for close range holdover. The idea is interesting for a gun with irons only that will probably be used only for 100 yards and in.

What about same plane apertures (hole in same place)? Simple enough and what I originally wanted on the gun. I emailed DD and they responded their fixed sight was same plane. It is not. My question here is more of a poll then a question. What zero is everyone using for a fixed sight (or red dot) for that matter, 50 or 100 yards?
