    I would prefer something better than sometimes.... I could use a spotting scope, but don't feel that I would use it enough to matter.

    I get that, but fact of the matter is, your purpose is that of a spotting scope, not bino's. If you got really good, higher zoom bino's, they would work in a pinch, but you will always be better off looking at bullet holes with a spotter than bino's. I have a set of 1200 dollar 20x bino's. I will use them in a pinch for seeing holes in paper, but if im doing it more than a few minutes, I use a spotter.

    Thanks for the advice, I would be better off saving up for a bit than feeling like I got a good deal for something that doesn't really suit my needs.

    Congrats to Alan. After placing my order for the Labor Day sale, he now joins a growing group that my wife ( aka: Budget Master) won't let me play with. :dunno:
