I have a BioBelt that I love, but I may need to invest in a nylon/web gun belt. I want something sturdy like the BioBelt, but with a Cobra buckle or the D ring-style buckle. Basic black is needed. What are your recommendations?

I know there are other threads, but I need something beyond the standard “get a BioBelt” suggestions.

If you’re not set on double rings, the Graith Specialist is n extremely comfortable belt designed for AIWB, but stiff enough to carry other gear as well. Cobra buckles, depending on the pants, are a pain in the ass.

That’s my concern on the Cobra buckle, but I know some come with a 1” female end to go through belt loops. The belt will be worn with 5.11 style pants, so the loops will be sturdier than normal pants.

I've been wearing the Uncle Mikes instructor's belt for years. Tried one out to see if an affordable option was viable, this one is.

What size do you need and what color? IF you need one fairly quick for work, I have a black 5.11 Operator (no cobra buckle) that might work for you. I believe it's a large.

I prefer 1.75" and they are usually stiffer as well. There is a big assortment of 1.5" available out there, not as many 1.75" without paying for it. I like Volund Gearworks, the 5.11 Operator belt and had good luck with a TAG cobra belt a while back. The 5.11 Maverick has a 1" end so it could thread pretty well also.

I don’t need it right away, but I appreciate the offer! It’s a potential change being discussed for our division. I’m just looking ahead to what I might want to go with if it happens. Does the 1.75” work well with tac pants like 5.11, First Tactical, etc.?

Yes, in fact I feel they work better than the narrower belts because they fill up the belt loops more, and I think support your load more effectively. It also depends on your equipment, and whether it has 1.5" or 1.75" belt loops attached. My regular loadout for those times were a Safarilaand ALS holster, a kydex double mag pouch and my radio on a clip. My radio moved up to my vest when donned.

I actually changed up my loadout to improve a bit, but I wasn't doing "soft uniform" stuff anymore... I changed it to the TAG 1.75" cobra belt, which I used as a "mini gun belt" and used the ALS holster, a nylon cuff pouch, a single pistol mag pouch and a single rifle mag pouch, which was used for the radio when out of the vest, then my radio was moved up to the vest and the rifle mag re-inserted. I found it to be a lot more comfortable and I didn't have problems with anything digging in to me or riding too high for an external vest. (I don't know if that's part of the direction you're going, just my experience.)

Same. I finally bought another one after like 8 years of use because the Velcro was starting to wear out. I’ve tried cobra styles but even with a smaller buckle hat will feed through loops I found it to be a pain.

My original Wilderness turned 20 last year, and is still usable, a little ratty but usable.

I am interested in the 5.11 belt if you want to part with it.

I wear a blue alpha gear belt everyday I've had it for 3 years and it's still holding its shape. It's a cobra buckle. I was wearing a couple 511 belts but they were a pita.

I've got a 1.75" that I never wear. When I bought it I wasn't paying attention. Got it home and... all my holsters and mag carriers are 1.5".

It's a large, fits 36"-38". You can have it if you want it.

I invested in a few Wilderness Instructor belts with the titanium buckles. I'll be wearing them until I die.

Besides the obvious gun belt rigging, I've grown used to clipping my keys to the buckle.

A carbiner clipped to the webbing of the belt stays in place pretty well also. I spend a few months of the year with fishing gear clipped on while hiking the banks.

    In the country, hopefully.
I have a 5.11 Double Duty TDU, Coyote on one side and black on the other, been wearing it for years and still going strong. I destroy leather belts in weeks to months for some reason.
The double duty is much stiffer than single sided and seems very supportive to me.

I have a metal core KORE Essentials belt in leather and nylon and it's FANTASTIC... wear them daily with no issues and great durability. Lightweight but almost zero flex... they're fantastic!

I may send you a message shortly...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m going to check out a few options that popped up several times each. I think I’m going to wait and see if we make any changes in attire first.
