Eotech Decision

I have decided I would like to try out an Eotech on one of the ARs. Is the 512 okay or do I need to go with one of the EXPS models? If I like it, I will likely get a G33 Magnifier to go with it.

I've had the 512 (three of them). Not really a fan in general. They were not reliable because the battery compartment would get flaky over time. I would go with the EXPS models.

I have had both and I prefer the EXPS just because of the battery retention. Originally I wanted AA because of availability and commonality with other items I might be carrying, but I have been switching to 123, so it isn't as much of an issue.

What features are attracting you to the eotech vs Aimpoint or Trijicon?

I have an Aimpoint Pro on one and a Trijicon MRO on another, so I have tried them. They seem okay, I just want to try out an Eotech because I never have.

I have the exps3-0. You’ll want one of those is you plan to use it with nods. That’s not important to everyone. If it doesn’t matter the xps2-0 would be fine.
