So I recently went down the path of getting plates and a plate carrier. However I was doing a LOT of research and watching videos. I'm not sure if anyone has already watched some of this guy's videos but he's got some good info and tests out there.

I ended up buying a IIIA vest with pockets for plates in the front and back. The level 3A vest provided more coverage than a plate carrier did and also offered pockets for plates. I can wear the 3A vest without the plates and it doesn't weigh a lot. I can also wear the 3A vest with plates if I would like to.

The wife recently broached the subject of Body Armor so off I went to research. I keep coming back to Safelife Defense Level IIIa+ concealed vest. It is more expensive than some but offers 360 degree cover. If budget wasn't a concern I would go for the FRAS rifle vest. It uses the pinnacle Dragon Skin flexible rifle armor system that is amazing. I saw a video on it a few years ago before they dissolved. Now Safelife is offering it, but it isn't cheap.
