DP250 is an intensive look into the manipulation of your defensive pistol using one hand. Both strong side and support side manipulations will be explored. Shooting, of course, but also reloading, malfunction reduction, use of the back up pistol, arrangement of equipment on belt or body and more is on the agenda. This is an advanced level course and requires prior training and consent of ACT staff to attend. Safety is paramount.

Gear required is the same as any defensive pistol course. Ammunition required is up to the shooter, but we do suggest a minimum of 250 rounds. Most taking this course have shot considerably less. The course is shootable with one firearm, but a second is encouraged.

Class size will be limited to 8 for this one.

    To answer some questions:

Consistent participation in either USPSA or IDPA will fulfill the prior training requirement if at higher than entry level classification.

Round count is not overly high for this class. 250 should be more than enough, but some have shot more and some less. You will only shoot the number of rounds you feel you need to shoot. We try to make every round mean something.

Just want to make sure you have me down for this one :yesway:

This will be a great opportunity for everyone (qualified) to practice single/one hand drills.
I broke my collar bone a few weeks ago and without practicing single hand drills I'd be in trouble.
Even with practice it's a lot different pretending to be incapacitated than when it's the real deal. There were a couple of 'go to' moves that I had developed and worked well when practicing that had to be abandoned due to pain and physical limitations (more than usual that is!)
