I'm looking for the best place to buy some 7.62 x 51 so I can take my new (to me) Cetme out for a spin. I live near Evansville and have not found anything but expensive stuff down here. I'm assuming I'll need to get it online.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

You're probably not going to find much cheap 7.62 ammo around here.
Dave's in Holland has Federal 7.62 for $13 or $14 for 20 rounds. That's a little cheaper that 308 Winchester hunting ammo.
Look for old battle packs at gun shows. I've gotten SA packs for $40 a couple years ago. I think it's about $.50 - $.60 /shot nowadays.

I found 500 rounds online at Sportsmen's Guide for $275. It's 1990s production from Dynamit Nobel. Does that sound like a fair price?

That sounds fair. You can get the 200rd battle packs for $125 at shows, so that sounds like a good deal.

Shooting 7.62x51 is EXPENSIVE but very FUN!!!
