Best 45 and 12ga. HD/SD ammo?

I am going to the 1500 tomorrow, and going to buy some ammo. I have an XD 45 and a semi-auto tactical shotgun. Just looking for recommendations. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and I will be stopping by the INGO table for some goodies.

Look for Winchester Ranger SXT's in .45ACP & Winchester Supreme Double X 00 buck, their good stuff.

For the gauge, I recomend Federal Tactical 8-pellet 00 buck w/ Flite Control wad (LE133 00); its patterns out of cylinder-bore shotguns have to be seen to be believed.

When I carried a .45, it was loaded with Remington 185gr Golden Saber HP.

After watching Tom Gresham on Personal Defense TV. I would go with bird shot for use inside my house in the shotgun.

Me too... but only if I had birds in my house.

They were talking about it as a defensive round. It is less likely to leave the dwelling than buckshot but still has enough penetration to take down a bad guy.
