has anyone noticed that wal mart keeps adding shotgun shells in the case in bigger quantities to make it look like the shelves are full? I would call that false advertisement. From 50 feet away it appears like they might have the caliber I need and then as I get closer and closer the dissappointment settles in and reality hits... just lots of twelve and twenty gauge. enough buck shot for everyone:(

I was at the Wal-mart in Greenwood yesterday and they took down all the ammo restrictions (except for .22LR).
We were standing there when the clerk got the message and pulled the signs off the glass case.
I bought 9 boxes of 223 and a friend of mine bought 6 WWB 9mm 100 rd boxes.

The one on Emerson, just south of 465 had 7-8 boxes of 50 round Federal and one box of some other brand I've never heard of. Picked up 3 boxes (150 rounds) for $50 including tax.

On Saturday the Greenwood WM was fully stocked. I'm heading there shortly and am interested to see if, asking doing away with the 3 box limit, if there's anything left today.

Well, pretty much what I figured. 9mm was all out except some super expensive crap that's been there since they put it in the cabinet. .380 was out, .22 was out, tula .223 was out (well, knew that). In other words, it looked normal... ;)

Our local Wally has had a good selection of 9mm lately, Federal Champion 100pks for $25.77, Tula for $10ish, and Federal Classic 9mm 115gr JHP 50rd box for $17.97
I've learned to ignore the apps, our WM will very often have ammo that the apps don't show.

On Saturday I found the Walmart in Rochester has 100 round boxes of 9mm FMJ Federal for $25 and change. There were nearly 20 boxes or more available. They were poorly stacked so I couldn't count them. Many other calibers available too but since I only own a 9, I didn't look as carefully. I didn't notice any limit signs posted.

Gander Mtn. Castleton had a couple boxes of 350 round Blazer Brass in 9mm for $119 when I was there last weekend. I grabbed one as I was out of 9mm fmj.

The Fort Wayne Gander Mountain usually has a large supply of these. I find myself buying them, even though it's more expensive than the WWB or BrassMax at WalMart...when you can find it. I'm new but already tired of playing "find the ammo" around town, so I'll pick up those 350 round boxes for $119 just to avoid the hassle.

I feel faintly dirty admitting that I willingly buy overpriced goods at Gander, but whatever.

At my WM they are only limiting 22lr when they have it. You can buy as much as you want in any other caliber. So it defiantly seems to be a store thing as to how many of what you can buy.
