Strange .45 ammo for sale at Samco?

Welcome to Samco Global Arms, Inc.

They say it is 1980s production Yugoslavian .45 ACP, but the case length is shorter so it can only be used in .45 ACP revolvers.

What's the deal? I really doubt they were making special .45 just for long obsolete revolvers in the 1980s. Is this just Samco giving themselves some lawyer proofing for out of spec ammo?

Designated as HPFMJ but looks like regular RN to me. Dont have any books in front of me, but 45 Auto Rim sounds like its possible.

you don't need moony's for Auto Rim.......it's not AR....rim is the same size the case....never heard of 45HP?

kind of high priced for baster stuff........would shoot fine from wheel guns as said.......shame it's not cheaper...

Yep, same here! So, obscure round for obscure Italian pistols manufactured in a country that had nothing to do with the design of either? Doesn't surprise me Samco is the one that drug it up. Not sure why they would bother though. How many of those firearms could there be in the US? Way too expensive to be plinking fodder in revolvers. I imagine those will stay on the shelf for a long time. I would be interested in just one of them for my collection though.

Cut down a piece of ACP brass and seat your bullet deeper. Nobody else will ever know and I wont tell either! Think that's what I might do for my shadowbox.

45 HP is a failed euro cartridge. It is made for countries that don't allow civies to have military calibers. It is exactly like 45ACP except it is 1mm shorter
