    why not getting some Hornady?

    22 Caliber 224 Dia. 55 Grain*FMJ Boat Tail W/ Cannelure | MidsouthShootersSupply.com

I have no idea about Bulletheads, but I have bought X-treme before, the cannelure is almost no exist.

Cause the 2 above were the only two I knew off. :)
The ones you listed are $94 + shipping for 1K.
Can't figure out how much shipping is since that website wants me to register and to just do a price check I REFUSE to register!
I have never loaded for .223 so is the cannelure important?

For ME the cannelure serves as a reference point. I seat to where I can JUST see the top edge of it, and then give them a VERY,VERY slight crimp, for AR's.
For bolt gun use, I usually will not crimp.

My last order from Mid-South ran me less than $80.00 per K shipped--I DID--order 6K on that order. The higher the volume the less they cost. Get some friends together and make a group order..Bill.

I will say that I do prefer the hornady, but at almost half the cost I'd be willing to at least give these vendors a shot.
I have never heard of either of them, but I don't buy much online, I like to put my paws on it at an LGS.
Call me crazy but that's my preference.

The Hornady is a better bullet in my opinion... The cannelure is important when using the load in a semi auto as it allows a slight crimp to keep the bullet in place during recoil and when beating the loaded magazines around. For a bolt gun it is just like billybob stated... gives you a positive re-doable position of the bullet in the case...

I haven't ever ordered from the first company or used their brand of bullet before..
