I was looking around on X-treme's website after seeing an ad here on INGO for some 200 grain plated RN projectiles and got to wondering... For plinking purposes, is there much difference in the performance between 230 and 200 grain projectiles? The 200 grain are a little cheaper (not a lot, but every little bit helps!), and since I just got a Hi Point 4595 carbine, I was wondering if the slightly lighter projectile might actually perform a little better at longer-than-pistol ranges - say 50 yards or greater. Am I overthinking this?

I have used 230 gr and 200 gr and even the 185 gr and they all worked very well, you will have to try to find the powder amount that each one likes best, I have been very happy with X-treme bullets. The more you save on supplies the more trigger time you have .

I like to use 200 gr lead bullets in all my 45acp pistols. I think less recoil. I load 200 LSWC, LRN, LTC bullets. I use 5 grns 231.
Looking for a used HP 45acp, till Mech-Tech comes out with their conv for XDM 45acp pistols ,soon I hope. What did you give for your HP and how do you like it?

Mine came from gunbroker for $210 plus shipping. Haven't fired it yet, but hoping to give it a try later today if I get my garden in early enough. Looks like it will be a fun gun to shoot!

That's a great deal. Anymore on there?

There were quite a few when I got this one. I was actually surprised it went as low as it did. Most were north of 250. The 4595TS seems to go for less than the 995TS.

I got to take it to the range today, and it worked great with both LRN and FMJ 230 grain. Fun little gun!
