    As we all know, powder is still hard to come by. One of the few powders that seem to be staying in stock for more than one millisecond is HS-6, which works well for me in 9mm. Has anyone tried HS-6 in the following calibers/combinations? What were your results? Not asking for load info, just how did the powder perform—did it burn completely, etc. The following combos are:

    .45 ACP with 200 gr. plated bullet;

    .380 with 95 gr. plated bullet;

    .32 H&R with 60 & 85 gr. XTP, and 100 gr. JSP.

    In order to get enough HS-6 to make the shipping/hazmat worth it, I need to get 32 lbs of powder, hence my questions….

    Tnx. :)

    Not sure of the load info but my friend likes HS-6 in .45acp with 230 grain round nose of the plated variety

    HS~6 and AA#5 are my two favorite powders, you can load anything with them they typically perform much better loaded at or near maximum range.

    trophyhunter, tnx for the QL calcs. I was going to do them myself at some point (I have a copy of QL). From the calcs it looks like using HS-6 in .380 is out---its too slow for this cartridge. :(
