Ok....I did a post search and couldn't find want I was looking for so here it is.

I want people to post what kind of accuracy they are getting from their 35 REM. and what you are shooting it through. I know the 35 REM is a 200 yd round and was wondering what you guys were seeing at 100 yards.

I have an old Mauser 96 action that I have thought about getting rebarreled for the 35 REM but have also looked at just getting a TC and being done with it.

I am not fully convinced that it will fill the bill any better than my 44 mag will but wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter.

I hardly ever shoot past 100 yards with my deer guns . I sight my Marlin lever action in at 50 and my CVA Scout in at 100. My Marlin will run 3/4" at 50 with cast bullets and 2" or less at 100. The load is an RCBS 35-200 fngc over 35.0 gr IMR 3031. I am experimenting now with the Lee C358-200 fngc but haven't finalized my load yet. My CVA shoots the Hornady Leverevolution factory ammo and my handloads of Speer 180 fnsp Hotcore over 38.5 gr IMR 3031 into an inch plus or minus at 100. Since we have to use trimmed brass I use the Speer load for hunting in the CVA. My son dropped a small 8 ptr this year at 50 yards in his tracks with the CVA and I dropped my 8 ptr in his tracks with my Marlin. I also have a load of Rem 200 gr Coreloks over 41.3 gr Leverevolution powder that my CVA and Marlin like but I'm about out of the Coreloks so I switched to the Speer 180's. These are not target grade accurate loads but they work great for hunting. I've shot three deer with those three loads and they all dropped where they stood. Love the .35 for deer. HTH

The accuracy of a given cartridge is more about the rifle it is being fired from and the prep work that went into the loaded rounds. With that in mind, the 35 Remington cartridge is more than accurate enough for the ranges at which it has lethal energy. Particularly with a Mauser 96 or a TC Encore barrel, accuracy should very easily approach 1" at 100 yards. While the M96 would be nice, you'll find it's a lot less expensive to buy a 35 Remington barrel for the Encore, even if you have to buy the action as well.

I bought a CVA Hunter single-shot in 35 Remington and it shoots 3-shot groups that are right at 1" at 100 yards. I'm using a converted 303 British parent case to make 35 Remington brass which is strong enough to drive the 200gr FTX bullet at 2,400fps (from a 20" barrel). With full length (1.920") or shortened to legal length in Indiana (1.800") this makes for a 250 yard rifle. I used this combination to harvest a doe and a buck in Michigan this last fall, but haven't connected on one in Indiana, yet.

If you build a 35 Remington on an action that is stronger than the standard Marlin 336, and would like some converted 303B cases that allow you to push the envelope a bit, let me know.

I am getting just over 1" groups at 100 yards with my Marlin 336. I cannot recall at the moment the specific charge of powder that I am using but I do recall it is near max per the loading charts that I was using. Currently using the FTX bullet over Leverevolution. I have a bunch of the Remington round nose 200G bullets that I want to work a good load for.
IMO, the 35 Rem is a better choice than the 44 Mag.

My 35 Remington is a stainless T/C Contender with a 16" stainless MGM barrel and is one of the most accurate guns I own. I have shot several 3 shot groups, under an inch at 100 yards. It helps that I load all of my rounds and am using a custom barrel, but the round is inherently accurate.

    .
I can say only that the Remington Model 8 is a consistent beer can hit at 50 yards, I need more distance to do a better check.

My TC Contender was at an inch for 5 shots at 100 yards.
    7X scope, 16.25" bbl.
    Bullet was 200gr Hornady.

My buddy shoots his CVA hunter from 1 to 1.5" at 100 yds, his scope's maximum mag is also 7X.
    He runs the Barnes bullet.

There were Remington Model 7, 600 and 788's done in .35 rem. None of them is gonna be cheap though.
I can't see spending that money, when 760's shoot well and are easier to find.

Best bet to build a bolt rig would be a Savage...........barrel nut. Alas, ready to screw on bbls............none available in .35 rem (or .300 savage).

    I've checked ;)

I sold my 16.25" bbl because it just looked too short. If 18.25" I might have kept it.
Figured a specialty pistol in .35 rem to be my next go...........and I scored a sweet Super 14 and it shot factory Hornady Leverevolution to an inch at 50 yards.
Being it wore a 3 MOA reddot, I was thriilled. But even with Pachmayr Grippers it made my hand numb...........in 10 shots. Early stages of arthritis, it's just a little more than I want to mess with. So I sold that bbl.

Still have the bare frame though.

Dunno what I'm gonna do. Like the looks of the G1 over the G2 or Encores.
Think a 760 more to my liking.

We can list all of the common actions that 35 Remington cartridges are fired from; they are all plenty accurate enough.

It's really more about the load and the shooter, when it comes to the 1.800" versions of the round.

Model 81 with Stith scope mounts was good for a 1 1/2" at a hundred. Sold it 'cause I'm a lefty and the scope offset was a wrongy.
Lyman #358315 was my best mold. I'm thinking about maybe getting this one made to fit an old Marlin chamber.

Here are my two first ever 100 yard 3-shot groups using IMR-3031 and 180 grain Speer Hot Cor JFP. Cant believe the difference 1 grain of powder made in terms of accuracy.

Forgot to add rifle is a JM stamped 336C made in the late 1990's I recently bought LNIB. Scope is a Bushnell 4200 3-9x40mm
The top shot of the right group was a called flier, I'm still learning how to shoot a lever action rifle from the bench, my groups should improve and become more consistent the more I shoot. For now I can't be sure if a poor group is the load or guy on the go switch.
If you discount the called flier that's makes for still a good group for a lever action rifle.

Just an update on my best performing loads to date shot from my late 90's 336c and the rest I shot most of them off. Any questions please ask.
