If you were going to go to the 1500 to buy powder, what are the top 5 you would be looking for? Also what are the primers you use the most?

The OP's question cannot be answered unless this question is answered.

    Agreed.

While there are some powders that are useful for numerous cartridges, it's impossible to give any kind of recommendation on what powders to look for without knowing what the OP is planning to load.

I use a lot of Power Pistol and H4895, but also specialty powders like AA1680 and RL10X. 2400 is another versatile pistol powder and for the larger, more powerful rifle cartridges, IMR4350 is a good powder to have around.

Chris, are you loading handgun or rifle or both?

    I just burned through a 4 lb. of HP-38 but I load a lot of .45acp and .38s.

If handgun, I'd get a 4lb of HP-38, Ackawrit 5 or 7, Titegroup or Bullseye.

I am currently only reloading for pistol so my list is short.

    Tightgroup
    H110
    2400

The 2400 was the hardest to find but scored the only pound I could find at the last 1500:rockwoot:. Looking forward to playing with it in the 44 mag. and 45 Colt.

Looking at the 2400 to do a 300gr 44 mag. that will run in the 1000fps range for deer hunting. I have recently gotten access to hunt some land near a subdivision and am thinking this may be the ticket to keeping the super sonic "Crack" down.
