Wonder if it wouldn't be productive to have a Hoosier alloy exchange thread?

    A good suggestion.

Always interested in lead but usually won't drive far unless it's a larger amount like 1K pounds or so.

Do you reckon that it is pretty much pure lead or an alloy? I think that pure lead is still used in muzzleloaders, but I may be wrong.

I just mix it with lino type to get the desired hardness.

I use pure lead in muzzleloaders and some older cartridge firearms.

It is definitely pure lead. Only pure lead can be used for radiology room shielding.

This other gent has come across linotype, if I read it correctly:

    https://www.ingunowners.com/forums/a...r-bullets.html

Would this be what to add to the above pure lead to harden appropriately?

Yes, linotype will do the trick. Just a small amount for handgun bullets and a little more for rifle bullets. I have a bunch of linotype if you need some for casting.
