    While splitting wood, I found a 230gr 45acp projectile inside a log.
Uneventful, right? Usually, yes. Thing is, this is a steel jacket and lead core projectile. Fairly thick jacket based upon the open base where the lead is exposed. I had never heard of such thing. Google returns nothing but steel case information.

It's shiny silver, not rusty, so I reckon it's an alloy but it definitely is magnetic. Not your typical bronze colored bi metal bullet. Bright silver.
If it was all steel, it would have rusted in the wood, right?

Anyways, what is this thing? How old? Anyone ever seen this?

Just curious. For whatever reason, I thought it was kinda neat. It's my first bullet I've found in wood from my property.

Thanks folks. I bought the place back around the 2012 shortage and there were some tresspasser issues at first (until I ran them all off). More than likely, this came from one of them it sounds like.

You had your chance. You tucked tail and ran when I threatened law involvement and you finally saw my buddy had flanked your position as I was yelling at you.

Too bad I have a dd214 and tons of combat experience which makes me invincible to attack.
