You can use any quick drying cleaner that doesn't leave behind a residue you would like such as brake cleaner and then follow up with a quality dry lube in certain spots. It's much simpler to use the Hornady lube and cleaner like they suggest. It's a product I keep on hand for a number of other things also. No reason not to at least try it.
BTW I always wipe down all parts that will make contact with powder with fresh dryer sheets after cleaning to help avoid static cling.
