You can get various flavors of HST at SGammo.com for 395 including the shipping so . . . $34 cheaper for same thing :dunno: Unless I'm missing something.
SGammo pretty much has HST all the time like this. Example

Pretty much the only hollow point I buy. $20 a box of 50 is hard to pass up for a solid hollow point.

Available in bulk for less than half the price of other "premium boxed" self defense ammo. Recommended and used by LEO's. Hard to argue with all that.

147 grainers for me thanks. Heavy for caliber in 9mm = most effective on top of softest recoil.

One INGO professional referenced that +P was the same effectiveness as standard velocity in this configuration, only increasing (unwanted) recoil.

This is correct. At least from a duty sized handgun, velocity gain is generally less than 80 fps and performance is near identical.

I refuse to buy 20 round boxes of ammo. If it is so expensive that I can't afford a real box, then it is overpriced.

I need to buy a case. I've shot up a TON of my 9mm stash this year at various classes & have some room to store a good defense load. How much more effective is the 147 & 150 over the 124?

Admittedly these were tested in "pocket pistol" length barrels but still provide some comparison.

Specifically HST? I know 147 gr standard pressure and 124 gr +P pass the entirety of the FBI battery of tests. I don't recall the results for Federal's standard pressure 124 gr, but I'm sure it's out there on the interwebz somewhere.
