I'm looking for some local source of loaded 148 gr. Wadcutter loads for 38 Special. I know I can order online, but would like to spend my cash supporting the local shops. Anyone seen them on the shelf?

Without reloading, I've never seen 148 wadcutters loaded on a shelf anywhere. It's usually the 130gr FMJ garbage.

Time to get a press. Even online, the loaded stuff is pricey for a box of 50 (Fiocchi, Federal GMM, etc...). Most re-manufactured stuff is horrific. Reloading that specific round is SUPER easy. Literally, 3 dies, brass lasts forever, components are still cheap. Why pay 20-30 bucks a box for new stuff? Because I can load those for $7 per 50, that's why!

Already have a press... or 3. I was looking for a stash of factory loads to keep from setting up a press and would then have some new brass to load in the future.

Looks like time to buy another press...or fourth and set up for .38 Special.:): Actually that's one load I need to start doing. I would like to find some of the old Speer 148 gr. hollow base extruded wadcutters like I use to use.
