Well I received confirmation today that the Type 99 Arisaka I picked up not too long ago is indeed still chambered in 7.7mm Japanese. Overall, I'm happy the rifle hasn't been rechambered; however it does bring up the issue of sourcing ammunition (though not as problematic as the 9mm Destroyer Carbine would be from the same shop...).

I do not reload, and simply am unable to get into it at this point. With that being said, what are some of the companies making this oddball round for a halfway reasonable price?

Not looking to shoot a bunch of rounds in a sitting, but I do intend on enjoying it.

Graf and Sons is always my first stop for ammo for classic military rifles. They were the only ones with 8x50R Lebel when I first started looking for it 15 years ago.

Edit: was able to pick up one box of 7.7mm at the trading post. Paid way too much, but I'm picking it up and will actually be able to shoot a bit.

Nice little comparison between the 7.7x58 and a .357 Magnum.
