    Hey ingo.

Looking into taking a spr class and the requirement is hits at 500-600 yards.

I can ring steel at 500 with a 50gr vmax from a 20", but this will be a carbine class and they specify heavier bullets...like 75, 77, 80gr.

Are the gains from deep seating a 75gr bullet to mag length in the wind worth the velocity trade off?
Ill be taking a lightweight buld with a 16" faxon 1:8.

If limited to an ar mag length, what bullet would ingo load?
Ive got tac, varget, 3031, xbr8208

    Please and thank you

My daughter is a 3 gunner and rings steel at 600yrds with Faxon 16" gunner barrel 1:8 using Hornady Black 75gr no problems. She uses a Vortex Razor HD 1-6 for the glass.

I cant justify sierra bullets anymore...i loaded them years ago when they where still a bargain, but now they have become cost prohibitive.
Matter of fact, reloading is becoming cost prohibitive.

    Love the noslers.

Never shot many heavy bullets in 223...so this will be new.
