    I know, buy ‘em cheap and stack ‘em deep.

    I did that. I have sufficient food for all my guns, but what about that beautiful orphan sitting alone in the case?

    It followed me home, and now there is ZERO 45acp in the cupboard.

    My lgs has about 20 boxes of S&B 230 fmj. They are upto $24 a box now.

    Ouch, I spent the last couple of years buying that at ~$0.27/rd although that's not as bad as 9mm has gone up.

    Found some Blazer Brass ball for just over 40c/round. Bought limit of 3 boxes and came back today. All gone.

    Local LGS has steel case only, not going there yet.

    Steel holds heat. Barrel makers like their barrels to be tight as possible for accuracy. Shoot a few rounds, the barrel gets really hot. The casing in the barrel throat gets hot and the small casing expands faster than the barrel. If it does eject, it's not good for the barrel throat.
