Curiosity question about the parents of Mr. Wells

I saw on the news last night how the parents of Mr. Wells (the gentleman that was killed when Officer Bissard crashed into his motorcycle) are demanding a meeting with Mitch Daniels. They also specifically stated that they do NOT want to discuss things with Ballard or Straub or anybody else from IMPD.

What exactly are they looking to get from him that a)he can actually deliver and b) they couldn't get from the actual authority entities involved?

Everyone thinks I'm some kind of weirdo for being interested in it.

I would guess, that they think Ballard and Straub work for Mitch like it's some kind of chain of command or something. They want to go "stright to the top" to get what they want.

That would probably be my guess as well.

They know that justice was far from served and they are looking at getting that fixed anyway they can, even though they don't know what they are doing.

It's impossible for me to put myself in the position that the family are in. No doubt full of emotion.

Anyone with any grasp on anything that happens in the city of indianapolis has pretty much come to the realization out that the mayor is useless and that Straub has no interest in public safety.

Yes, I would like to see more boots in more asses.

Unfortunately, there are too many lips on asses to make that effective.

Seems the governor spoke about a letter asking him to get involved, his comment was, it is a local matter and he's sure it will be handled. I feel for those parents, they are hittting a brick wall. Seems like to me the law often favors the criminal more than the victim.
