Have to drive this strip this week for a meeting. It's been awhile, but the last time I made this trip it was all tore up, one lane in many places. Is it still a mess, or is construction finished.

Thanks for the responses, just need to know if I need to allow extra time.

not as bad as it has been but when you near the 23 mile marker (Brazil) it's a mess (or was) You can exit there, if construction has it slowed or stopped and use either State Road 42 or US 40 to TH

I drove it week 5 of the NFL season, first week of October if you don't watch the NFL, and it wasn't too bad. There were a couple of spots where it hit one lane and we slowed to about 30 mph for a few miles. It still only took us about 4 hours to get to STL, so not too bad.

It's a mess from HWY 46 to at least the Brazil exit 23 maybe further east. I would go 40 from at least 231 if not the whole way.

I've been working out there off and on all year and it'll get you when you least expect it. I got lucky 3 weeks ago and jumped back on @ 231 and just missed construction switching to West bound. They were single file and dead stopped for a few miles.

You just can't trust it. I take US-40 almost every time now.
