Ok, to save a long story and longer explaination:
My wife is having surgery in the morning, will be down for a week or more, so the Christmas Tree has to be up today. (I know, I'd rather be in my tree stand)

Tree is up, each of its three sections has unlit sections. This is supposed to be one that won't kill a string if a bulb burns out :xmad:

Yes, everything is plugged in as it should be.

Now the question: Anyone have any tricks or tips on finding the faulty area? (I mean other than pulling each individual bulb and checking with a known good one)
I've checked fuses with a multimeter, they are good.

i have one of those. it will stay lit if one burns out but not if one is missing or crushed. Look along the strand for one missing or broken off.

From those trees I've seen, each has multiple strings, and you wind up with a bundle of plugs at the trunk. I don't know, but each of those plugs may have its own fuse. You'll need to do a few kinds of tracing, see that each plug is hot, that no wires have been broken inside the insulation at the entries, that kind of thing. Wish I could transfer my skills here :(
