I can access INGO from work (while many other benign sites are blocked) which is totally awesome!
I don't know how the admins set up the site, but it's great.

Yeah, I can get on from my work computer, but if I log onto our network with my laptop, ingo is blocked. Stupid "security" firewall!

It depends heavily on how your network admins are controlling traffic. If they're using a content filter, it could be blocking sites classified as "Social Networking" (Facebook, Myspace, etc.) but not sites classified as "Firearms" (INGO, etc.).

If you ever find that INGO is blocked, your first step is to ask your network admin if he's allowed to unblock it. If he's not, I do not recommend finding ways around it unless you enjoy drawing unemployment.

My last job was a desk job and quite a few sites were blocked.... Not INGO... I casually asked an IT guy about what would cause a site to be blocked that was not before and was told that they were subscribed to a service and if any site is reported to that service for anything negative it is automatically blocked. Said it could be a forum were someone got their feelings hurt and they report it for having malware or something and then it is blocked for many companies.

There are ways around everything but not worth your job.

I know a guy the got canned for having porn saved to his desktop.... His screen was 6 feet from a glass door and faced it and did not even bother to label it something innocent... Apparently it was labeled what it really was. Was well known that IT would look for red flags like computers having a lot fuller hard drives then others in the network or would quickly look over the of for anything obvious.... When this guy got the memo on that apparently he did not care...

Rookies using a firewall.. I direct all traffic through a proxy and have content filters.. I allowed INGO though!:alright:

LOL well I shouldn't really say rookies... I guess you can say I block with the firewall too, no web traffic can come in or out through any IP but the proxy.
