Not much of a country music fan, BUT I'm a huge fan of a "whiskey girl". Women who can drink a good whiskey and enjoy a cigar with the boys is an immediate winner! That being said I'm married so they would be immediately referred to my single friends lol!

Tonight, I'm going to the other side of my usual continent and sipping Jameson. My preference is usually without an 'e'.

I need to dig a bit deeper in the no "e" side of the world! I typically am a Bourbon man, but all whiskey/whisky is gtg for me! :D

Been trying to get into whiskey and scotch... Have a sampler of McClelland...

Heard excellent reviews of Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Pappy Van Winkle...
Any recommendations for a beginner that prefers something on the sweet side?

Hmm Dark ya might be a Cognac man try some XO special! that will help your sweet tooth with class!

Or Woodford Reserve double oaked, very intense and a little sweeter to me than most in this category.

And another I think ya might like to try out, hear me out here.

Its called RAIN by Buffalo Trace, its a Vodka that's sweet and tame, stored in sweet bourbon casks resembles notes of sweet caramel and intense sweet woody Bourbon undertones.

DarkRose, if you want whiskey recommendations that are a bit on the sweeter side, you're going to want to try the "wheated" bourbons like Makers Mark, Woodford Reserve, W. L. Weller, Bernheim, even Rebel Yell (don't hate). Woodford Reserve, while not strictly speaking a "wheater", is also a bit softer on the palate.

You might find you really enjoy an Irish (I like Redbreast much better than Jameson or Powers); they will provide a sweeter taste in my opinion.
