Peltor experience?

Title really says it all, anyone have good bad experiences with them besides their high price? Specifically military using the comtac both ii or iii, and where is the best place to get them for a decent price. I prefer to barter but will by if i need to...(felt this belonged more in break room than classifieds since im looking more for advice mods move if necessary)

-Build quality is excellent
-The gel ear cups are super comfy
-Battery life is pretty good
-The audio quality of the amplified ambient sounds is excellent.
-I can listen to coms, my mp3 player, and cell phone at the same time
-They are stupidly overpriced.

so far the lowest ive seen is 300 i want lower,honestly id prefer to trade something i have for em rather than spend money

Get the comtac 3s. As stated before they have excellent everything. Get the gel ear cups. The nice thing is that coms are super clear and there are adapters for a ton of different applications. Mine is hooked up to a vic 3 in the Humvee as well as a motorola stx. I use them at the range as well. Every so often you can find them used for 250. If you drive through Indy you are welcome to try them.

thank you for the offer but unless i go home on leave and fly to indy i dont think that i will be in indy any time soon haha i do plan to get the comtac iiis just finding one for a decent price that doesnt break my budget
