Obviously all of this is an unconscious collection of the concerns we face as an aging generation attempting to exist in a world which doesn't seek out (or require) experience from bygone times. (Or maybe it's just the donuts talking...)

Getting old isn't for wimps! It's amazing how our perception of what is old changes with how old you are. At 16 anyone over 30 was old. At 30 anyone over 50 was old. Now in my middle 50's anything over 75 is old!! But I think at any age we all can agree, Churchmouse is old!!!

Completely agree with this (other than Churchmouse - never met him). Days and years get shorter with the more experience you have to compare it against. I'm 45 but feel like I'm still in my 20's...until I look in the mirror.

Just don't look in the mirror then! I tell everyone I am 29 and they give me funny looks, but it is how I feel! My 24 year old daughter told me I have to give that up, but I am not going to!
