I cannot believe it has been four years. This is the anniversary of one of the longest days of my life and tops the list for the most trying.

Sad day in Indianapolis history indeed. May he continue to RIP. Prayers of continued comfort for Jo & Spencer, IMPD and all that were affected by this.

    Telling Dave stories can help.

Dave's voice was so deep that people often thought he was joking. We went off to some military base that we'd be stuck at for a week. The Navy bomb tech that was showing us around finished his speech with "any other questions?" Dave replied in his 5 octaves lower than any other humans voice, "which way is the gym". The Navy bomb tech, assuming Dave was joking, worked up his best meat-head voice and while flexing his biceps and pointing said, "it's right over there". Dave gave him a puzzled look and said "thanks man" with the same deep guttural tone and walked off.

Everyone there was almost in tears from laughter. The Navy guy was embarrassed. The funny part was it was the same embarrassment every one of us had when we first met and inadvertently made fun of Dave.

I'd do anything to hear that voice again. Hopefully one day when I'm being judged, some leniency is shown and I can see my friend again. Unfortunately if getting into heaven is graded on a curve, Dave just blew it for everyone.
