What is the most amazing place you have ever been?

    My contribution

Kind of a combo here. Pasadena was beautiful. Another is St. George Island in Florida. I had half an island to myself. No one else wanted to do the 2.5 mile trek with the gear to camp.

    Post your pics please!

Exotic? I vote for Morocco, 1997 (I was still shooting film so these are scanned in and 'shopped up a bit.. sorry). I'd love to go back, but not without someone I trust as a translator. The primary language was French, but once they figured out we could speak that, they switched to Arabic. I'm glad the professor leading the trip was from Morocco. :)

I think this was outside Casablanca -

And this was outside Rabat -

Closer to home? The Red River Gorge area an hour east of Lexington, KY. I have about 60 photos on my website, with stories to go with all the pictures if you get really bored. :D Photography by Pami :: 16 - Red River Gorge - Thumbnail View

It's a good place to ponder your insignificance. We stayed in this awesome cabin in the middle of nowhere and had to drive about an hour to find someplace besides Subway to eat dinner. But a couple of my favorite shots:

Amazing photos, btw. :) I love the way you have the sunrise/set? caught in the wash on the beach in the second one. :)

Awww the 897 isn't that big! Put in the battery packs and take a small 20m dipole up with you and you're set! Or go QRP and take a FT-817. Good stuff!

I sold the FT-897, and purchased an IC-746pro to replace it.
I do have an FT-817, I just didn't have it with me on that trip.

I should probably mention that I dragged him out there at the crack of dawn to get the sunrise over the mountains. If he'd brought all that gear with him, I'd have had to carry half of it -- and I have my own gear (camera!! water!!) to carry!

But don't think he didn't consider it...

Oh I can relate! All I carry around nowadays is my mobile rig in the car and maybe an HT or two. Getting lazy in my old age I guess! :faint:

My favorite is the gunnison river in Colorado.
Beautiful place, I'd love to spend a week or two fishing there.
