Today I found some more bunkers to explore.
Since they are partially buried they just look like small hills from a distance.
You need to approach them from the right angle to be able to see the entrance. And even then it's often hidden by thick vegetation, bushes and trees.
On top of that it was very foggy this morning so it made it even tougher to locate the bunkers even though I knew I was in the right field and knew where to look thanks to some satellite pictures.

I managed to find 3 and explore the inside.I saw the entrance to a fourth one but would have needed a machete to get inside.

After looking at more satellite pictures I found what might be at 6 more concrete structures, 300 north of bunker number 3.
And what looks to be a road made of concrete.About 200 meters long and not connected to any other road which is very odd in the middle of a field.Probably to transport ammunition between different bunkers in the area. :dunno:

Finally the entrance on the back as you walk around.

It must have been scary being a GI on the early hours of D-Day and walking in a field like that filled with fog.
You have to be 50 yards away from the bunker to see it.
And you can't even see that you are flanked by other bunkers or Tobruks all around.

A Tobruk is the smallest type of bunker made by the Germans.
They are usually fully burried and almost impossible to see from a distance.

It's just a man hole for a MG42.They were used to cover the rear entrance of larger bunkers.
Some even had tank turrets put on top (usually the ones facing the beach).

    No problem Larry!

Bunker N°3, with all that fog it was not visible from the other two even though it's just a few hundreds yards away.

I can't remember if I asked before (I think I might have but do not remember the answer) but are those on public property? If not, do the land owners ever give you a hard time about looking around?
