Any INGO'rs install carpets or have someone they recommend? My wife and I bought an old house that needed some work. We are nearing the end of getting it ready to move in and need some extremely budget-friendly options to get carpet down in 2 rooms and a hallway. Currently looking at remnants as a primary option but need an installer. (carpet is one I'm not willing to try myself)

    Room dimensions:

    Bedroom 12'x11' plus a small walk-in closet.
    Living room 15'x15'
    Hallway approx 25 sq ft.

We had some carpet put down this summer and we bought it from the Bedford Lowes. I'm sure it'll be different installers than what work your area but they did a good job.

beware the cheap. We had our upstairs redone 5 years ago with cheap carpet. the stairs are already wearing down to the backing in spots, and there are several spots in the hallway where I can see the backing.

Find cheap installers, but step up the product at least one notch above "what is your cheapest". Its worth it.

    Lol, I don't wanna!

Lowes has free installation with purchase of Stainmaster carpet and pad. Looks like I can get carpet and pad installed for $1.80/sq ft total. (Yeah, I know... But I need this done cheap)

That's what I did last summer, it was fast and painless.
