WANE-TV Coverage You Can Count On: Six killed in two days
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Six dead in two days. Fort Wayne police say it's the most violent stretch anyone on the force can remember.
On Monday, Police found the bodies of two women in a north-east fort wayne home 4648 Blum Drive. The Allen County Coroner says 27-year old Shantell Craighead and 23-year old Rachel Roos were shot to death and is officially ruling their deaths homicides.
They were called to the scene after someone stopped by to visit one of the women and saw a body through the open back door. Police say there were no signs of forced entry into the home.
A friend of Roos told Newschannel 15 that she was 8 months pregnant.
The coroner says Roos' unborn female baby died when the mother was shot.
The second incident occurred Monday afternoon just after three o'clock at the corner of Lillie and McKinnie Avenues.
Police say someone shot 17-year-old Randall Paris a number of times.
He was found lying in a front yard. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.
Police don't have any suspects in the incident at this time.
Monday evening, just south of downtown at Harrison and Masterson, officers found three victims. An officer discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds near the intersection while on routine patrol.
The discovery lead officers to search a nearby apartment at 215 West Masterson where they found two men dead.
After finding the first victim, the officer called EMS. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Medics pronounced the two men found inside the apartment dead at the scene.
The coroner has also scheduled autopsies for the two bodies. Police think these deaths were drug related. However, they're not releasing the victims' identies yet, and the coroner has not said how they died.
Officers are interviewing a person of interest who they found leaving the scene.
Police say they don't believe at this time the incidents are related and the general public has not reason to feel unsafe.
A spokesperson for the Police Department says all of yesterday's killings were a result of what he called, "life-style choices."
Tuesday's shooting happened around 12:30 p.m., at the 3300 block of McKinnie Ave. after receiving a 911 call reporting a possible shooting with a man down in a car.
When police arrived, they found 24-year-old Adrian L. Carswell unresponsive behind the wheel of a burgundy Dodge Intrepid, still running, suffering from what looked to be a gunshot wound at the Three Fountains Apartments on McKinnie Ave.
Paramedics confirmed Carswell was dead and took his body to the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center for autopsy.
Police tell Newschannel 15 that they aren't sure if the two shootings on McKinnie Ave. are related.
Police are asking for help from the public on all of these incidents. If you have any information on either of these incidents, call crimestoppers at 436-STOP.
