My personal all-time favorite Founders quote is this one:

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia State House on
August 1, 1776.

My second favorite isn`t a quote, exactly, but is within the text of the Declaration of Independence, and states:

"— That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

Was at my parent's house yesterday, and a show was talking about him. They were going over the inauguration, and I was struck by how he was trying to unify the country.
Don't think the Democrats would let him in the party today.
