Despite the terrible losses we suffered the Japanese did not get what they came for...our carriers, which were out to sea at the time. Good thing too, else history would likely have been very different in the Pacific.

    I doubt it.
There was no chance the Japanese were going to win the war against us.
    They really weren't even trying.
They thought by giving us a couple taps, we'd cow down like peasants, and they could continue expansion into Asia.
If they had hit the carriers and/or the repair yards/fuel farms, it would have just prolonged the war.

:patriot::patriot::patriot:I have been thinking of Grandpa a lot today. He was stationed there and though he misssd the attack, barely, he was there for the clean up effort. He died almost two years ago. Man of few words. RIP Grandpa.

As with everything, God-Almighty destined America to rise above this evil, and to His everlasting glory, we did. But only by His grace and provision.

Sylvain my Brother you never let me down. I'll be proud to attend your citizen swearing in ceremony hopefully sooner than later!

    Right on!
Anyone who says that we don't like immigrants must be ignoring the fact that we would eagerly welcome people like Sylvain coming here.
