Best for the value? GT Charlie's Gold Brick Tavern - Lawrence, IN. $6, huge sammich and a side. Hard to beat.

Ale Emporium has a good one
    The Claddaugh is also good

Question: Is the Nine Irish Brothers in Lafayette connected to the one downtown Indy? I've never eaten there, only stopped in for booze :alcoholic:

Really? Theirs is best? Back at Purdue my wife used to get her hair cut at that location (before the bar went up, but same guy). I've only been in there on busy nights - not my scene.

Personally, I'm fond of the Alley Sports Bowl in Pro Bowl West here in Fort Wayne. It's a favorite cheap date night for the wife and me.

There's a good one in Cicero, can't recall the name. However, I make a pretty mean breaded tenderloin so when I go out I'm always unimpressed.

Burkie's Drive-In in Muncie had the best one I've ever had. Used to go all the time when I was at BSU. If you never had one, you missed out.

Nickel Plate is pretty good. I wasn't at all impressed with CR Hero's. I really wanted to be since it's so close to my house.

The Icehouse just south of downtown has a pretty good one

I have a HUUUUUUUUGE problem with #6. That is NOT a tenderloin. Its a breaded pork chop sandwitch. Ive had it and while it was a good fried pork chop, a "hoosier pork tenderloin" it was not. Not pounded NEAR thin enough, if at all.

Skip the "tenderloin" special and stick to the burgers.

I have to find that place the next time we are down there.
I don't remember ever seeing it and don't remember Courtland...

Up by Kokomo Grain and Kokomo Speedway.
    N. Davis road and courtland. It runs into SR35 if you are heading north out of town toward Galveston.

I haven't been in years, but a place in New Albany called Vicks cafe had a great one, they'd give you the tenderloin on one full sized dinner plate and your sides on another! They had fantastic burgers, too, the place is still there, but don't know if the food is still what it was.

Crow Bar in Trafalgar has a monster tenderloin that's hand breaded when ordered. I've yet to have bad food there. Nickel Plate is awesome and close to the office. It's a favorite place to go when our vendors come in and want to buy lunch.

The tenderloins at Nick's kitchen are garbage. It's like eating cardboard. The only reason they are on anyone's list is because Dan Quayle ate there during the election cycle with Bush. The best tenderloin's in town used to be at the Hoosier Drive in off Etna Ave. here in town, they've traded owners a few times, and now they are also **** (the breaded cheeseburger is still good though). I personally like the breaded chops at Huggy Bear filling station. Best one's I've had hands down.
