HILARIOUS!
Premise: a clueless professor (Lithgow) in a small town "owned" by a tobacco and candy magnate who's wife is killed by being thrown out a window. His alibi is thin, and there is a lot going against him. (like is ex wife was also coincidentally killed by going through a plate glass window) The wife is actually the magnate's sister.
A NYC law firm financed by the magnate sends a junior lawyer down to start the defense investigation ahead of the powerful lawyer, when it comes out that Lithgow's character is now the prime suspect. That revalation causes the funding to be pulled and the green lawyer who now believes in his client chooses to stay and defend him. His defense team includes a clueless ex cop for a lead investigator, and a woman with multiple mental issues (cant recognize faces, laughs uncontrollably in stressful or sad situations, etc). Oh, and their office is in a taxedermy shop.
The whole thing is shot as a documentary, reminiscent of shows like The Office where characters often play/talk to the camera.
