So the family is finally getting a puppy next week! It's been over a year since we have had a pet in the house and I can not wait. But we are stuck on coming up with a name. The dog is a male black lab. My last dog was named Samson(Sammy/Sam) our cat was named Bagheera(baggy) and my sisters dog is named Ozzy. I like names that end in ie/y.

A couple names we have tossed around are Zulu, Magnus, and Indy(we aren't from here and my job relocates us a lot)

just looking for some names we might not have though of, any suggestions?

I won't pick names until I've met the dogs personality. Nothing worse than naming a dog something like "war machine" only to find out that the only thing he destroys is your carpet and wallet and he's scared of his own shadow.

My current dog answers to Bentley (his name), but he frequently gets called jackass, donkey, labradonkey, billygoat, Cletus, and billybob.....depending on his actions. Funny thing.....he comes to all of them.

And I hope you like hair.....the only thing labs do better than retrieve is shed.

We have used the names of mountains for our dogs.

If you used Denali, for instance, you could shorten it to Nali at times.
