I looked around here, but didn't find

    any reports of the shooting

at Menards last night. You guys are slipping.

Happened around 7pm. Guy shot 5 times in his car is what I've heard from a guy that works there.

    Drug deal gone bad.

    Another reason to avoid Menards.

I don't have any facts and who cares about being first? There has been plenty of time to post about it.

    It happened in Elkhart.

I heard the exact same story from a guy who knows a guy that works there.

Same logic used by people wanting to ban guns. Just replace avoid Menards with ban guns and you are good to go.

It is a holiday weekend. Some of us either still have to work or are spending time with family and friends. You can be the official holiday weekend news announcer if you want to.

They suck. Every time I go in there and ask a worker something, EVERY TIME, they'll say, "I don't know, this isn't my area".

    You ask workers questions?

    Bro, do you even hardware?

I don't think he does, everyone knows you're supposed to wonder around aimlessly looking for stuff. How else are you going to find that do hicky that you didn't know you needed until you see it

What are the other reasons to avoid Menards?

Besides the cheap-a** stuff, poor store layouts, sucky fastener selection, crappy return policies, and shady accounting practices? (My company got fed up with them and told them to pound sand as a customer because it was costing us more to collect on our invoices than we were making on the work)

I drive past one to get to Lowes, and only stop when I have a project emergency and dont have time to drive the extra 10 minute for a missing part.

I will admit their lumber is better than the stuff at Lowes, but I find it annoying I cant buy wire by the foot there. Really sucks when you need $3/5' of wire and they make you buy a 25' spool for $30.

They suck. Every time I go in there and ask a worker something, EVERY TIME, they'll say, "I don't know, this isn't my area".

I worked at Wal-Mart part time while I was in college and I was often stopped by people asking where such and such was. Despite giving them precise, clear directions even a child could follow and despite the large signs identifying departments, I frequently saw them wandering around lost a short time later and would often hear them asking someone else where the same thing was as I was walking past. One of the guys I work with got fed up with a steady stream of clueless customers one night after being stopped in sporting goods and asked where the automotive department was (they were located about 10' and one aisle apart) so he started sending everyone to the opposite end of the store from wherever what they were looking for was located.
