We are planning our vacation to Yellowstone and I would like to see tipi rings while I'm out there. For those that don't know what I mean, those tribes that used tipis before European contact, used large rocks to hold down the edges of their tipis. The rocks formed rings that were used over and over for generations. After traders started pushing onto the plains with tools and goods to trade, they switched to stakes.
I have located one ring along I-80 in Wyoming but it appears to be at a rest area and I would like to see some on a not so heavily visited area, but at the same time I don't want to have to hike far, or drive off road very far. Picky, yes, but I'm not the only one on this vacation so I have to temper my day trips.

    Thanks,
    Alan
