    Sycamores get that hollow base pretty regularly. You'll be surprised how strong they are even hollow. If that fire goes out, wtf are you gonna do? Hopefully not go dick around under it trying to light it again!

    They make chainsaws, wedges, and bullropes to safely get trees like that down.

    I'll say again.....Stay the hell away from that thing now that it's on fire.....God only knows which way it'll go, when it'll go, if it'll barberchair, or if it'll even stay lit long enough to fall.

    I do wanna see pics of it once down though. Good luck.

    It should fall to the southeast. The center of gravity also is that way. It might hinge more to the east depending how it burns out.

    My wife and father in law are also in that area watching for it to fall.
